Solar Panels
When walking around you may see two types of solar panels. On the photo below to the left is Solar PV. This converts sun light into electricity. The Solar Panel below on the right converts the suns heat into hot water. You can see the difference by looking for a hot water pipe. The panel below shows the outflow pipe at the bottom right. That pipe will take the hot water through the roof tiles to a medium to large hot water cylinder. There will be another pipe which a

Solar Panel
Solar panels have become a key player in the global effort to reduce carbon emissions and embrace renewable energy. Manufacturing solar panels is a complex process that involves advanced technology, high-purity materials, and strict quality control measures. 80% of global solar panel manufacturing are made in China.
Solar panels are either to used the Suns Rays to produce electricity (PV), or can be used the Suns heat to produce hot water (solar Thermal).
There are 9 different types of solar panel and you can look here for website that gives good information on the differences.
Like all technologies, they get better with age. I had my solar panels installed in 2013 but solar panels now are much more efficient.

Things that will be considered
Things you and your installer will consider:
- What direction does your property face?
- What is the pitch of the roof?
- Can the roof hold the weight of the panels?
- Are there any overhanging trees or property near?
I have seen where solar panels are put on the east side of the roof when owners are at work all day, and when they come home in the evening sun is sets to the west.
When you request interest in solar panels, a surveyor will look at all the issues above and work out a calculation with the cost of the insulation and estimated return. Best practice is always getting three quotes.
Solar Panels can work with other technologies, such as batteries and diverters (to a hot Water Cylinder). These technologies can maximise the usefulness of solar panels.
